The 2021 Inpatient Prospective Payment System (IPPS) final rule updates the Promoting Interoperability (PI) program and Inpatient Quality Reporting (IQR) programs. CMS will begin public reporting of electronic clinical quality measure (eCQM) data on Hospital Compare starting 2021, and will require full calendar-year eCQM reporting by 2023.
